Viewer text & captions

Show what viewers type — with {viewer} and {message} templates on alerts and messages.

On the Content step, turn on Viewer text when you want Kick (or chat) to supply a custom line under your GIF or as a full message.
Templates use {viewer} for the Kick username and {message} for what they typed on redeem or after a chat command.

Steps

  1. 1
Choose “Yes — viewer types text” and edit the template (example: Thanks {viewer}: {message}).
  2. 2
For channel points, create or pick a Kick reward with “Ask for a message” enabled.
  3. 3
Save the trigger — Trigglow syncs user-input on the Kick reward when needed.
Note
Test fires send sample Viewer / Hello! so you can preview captions in OBS.
Note
Long {message} text is cropped to 220 characters (with an ellipsis) on both the live overlay and every preview, so it stays readable during an alert.
Warning
A profanity filter is on by default under Settings → Safety — it masks or blocks flagged words in chat and channel-points text before they reach the overlay.
