Song requests (YouTube & Spotify)

Viewers request songs with !sr; they play on your Spotify or in Trigglow’s own YouTube player — no YouTube login needed.

Pick the source in Music requests: Spotify plays on your Spotify app (Premium) and YouTube plays in Trigglow’s player page, which you add to OBS as a Browser Source or open in a pop-out.
Viewers type !sr <song name or link>. With YouTube, links always work; search by name needs Trigglow’s YouTube key (already set up on trigglow.com). !song shows what plays, !queue the next songs, and mods can !skipsong.
Filters: max video length, age-restricted videos, live streams and videos that can’t be embedded are refused; the same song can’t be queued twice. Cooldown, per-viewer limit and who can request are in the same page.
The music overlay (/overlay/:slug/music-requests) shows what plays with progress and the queue; the YouTube theme gives it a 16:9 video-tile look with the lyric line drawn as captions over the video.
Two separate switches: "Music overlay & player" (the widget, the queue and your playlist) and "Chat requests (!sr)". With requests closed, !sr replies that they are closed while your playlist and the songs you add keep playing.
Background playlist (YouTube): paste a playlist link and it plays whenever no request is playing — no !sr needed. A request waits for the current playlist song to end; Skip moves on right away.
Lyrics: YouTube only shares a video’s subtitles with its owner, so the overlay’s lyric line comes from LRCLIB (matched on the cleaned song title). YouTube’s own subtitles can be shown inside the player instead.

Steps

  1. 1
Music requests → Play requests from → YouTube (or Spotify).
  2. 2
Keep "Music overlay & player" on, turn on "Chat requests (!sr)" if viewers should request, and set the max length, cooldown and who can request.
  3. 3
Optional: paste a YouTube playlist link under Background playlist (shuffle on or off).
  4. 4
Copy the YouTube player link → OBS → Browser Source, tick “Control audio via OBS” (or click Open player in a pop-out).
  5. 5
Add the music overlay too if you want the now-playing card on stream.
  6. 6
Test with Add a song, then try !sr from chat.
Warning
The queue only advances while the player is open somewhere (OBS or a browser tab).
Tip
Control it mid-stream: Stream Deck song keys (beta plugin), desktop-app global shortcuts (Settings → Overlay hotkeys → Song requests) or the OBS / Website URLs.
Note
Switching between Spotify and YouTube clears the songs queued on the other service.
