How to add alerts to OBS, step by step

Alerts show up in OBS through a "browser source": a transparent web page on top of your scene. This guide gets it right the first time so alerts are centred, sharp and audible.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Copy your overlay URL

In the Trigglow dashboard, copy your private overlay link. Don't share it: it's what shows your alerts.

  2. 2

Create the browser source in OBS

In your scene press "+", pick "Browser", paste the URL and set width 1920 and height 1080. Keep the source above your camera and game.

  3. 3

    Turn on audio in OBS

Tick "Control audio via OBS" on the source so you can set the alert volume from the mixer.

  4. 4

    Fire a test alert

Press "Test" in Trigglow. If you don't see it, check the source is visible and above the other layers.

What's included

  • One source for every alert and platform.
  • Alerts always render centred; you position them by moving the source in OBS.
  • Extra overlays for chat, goals, giveaways and loyalty points.
